Roadtripping is something of a lifestyle for Heather Waters. Since the beginning of her career she has not stood still – Waters has performed her folk- rock guitar tunes in villages, towns & cities from Cape Town to Corsica!
Alone or with a band, Waters' expressive guitar rhythms, honest lyrics, and passionate energy draw you into her performances! Since 2004, British born Waters has been writing and creating a definite style and sound to her work which is lending to the musical success that she enjoys today.
In 2010, Heather released her second EP 'The money Came In Today' and was selected as a trio, by PANSA (Performing Arts Network of South Africa), to perform at the FIFA 2010, WORLD CUP FOOTBALL celebrations in Cape Town. 2011 and 2012 saw Heather more often in studio than on stage but the ‘TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE’ Tour took Heather and her band to the Mpumalanga Province early in 2012 after which she returned to complete her most anticipated new album 'The Campervan Collective Volume 1'. ’The buzz around Heather’s new album derives from the simple fact that she is a brilliant songwriter. Her songs and performances burn with energy that was commonplace back in the 1960’s. Waters sings of ‘love revolution’ and entertains audiences with her foot-tapping folk music, lyrical humour and bare-foot pop-rock approach.
The latest offering from Heather was released in December 2015, aptly named ‘Castles & Towers’. Having spent the previous two years battling the onset of an immobilizing illness, this album has captured something more powerful than this determined and talented strawberry-haired girl has ever released before. With renewed strength and back on her feet in 2015, Heather's new album 'Castles & Towers' was recorded in Cape Town by multi-SAMA Award winning engineer and producer, Peter Pearlson. This collaboration is by far her greatest work to date, Heather and her band’s far-reaching assortment of influences — musical, cultural and biographical — are bold and unflinching, and work perfectly in conjuring an equal tally of powerful emotions in the listener. It is a high spirited album that abandons any pretence of genre constraints as Waters delivers strong songs with sharp-tongued lyricism and witty rhymes.
